White Space in Photography, more popular as Negative Space, is a concept that has been used in Art & Sculptures for many years now. As Per Contemporary definition, Negative Space is the region that surrounds the main subject (or the positive space) in your picture.
Usually, Negative Space is a Clear Background which is left out of focus to increase the focus on the Subject in the foreground. This provides “breathing room” to the viewer and prevents the image from seeming too cluttered.
Negative space provides a natural balance and should be used in powerful pictures. Product Photography should ideally capitalize on impactful negative space.
